Why do roofers use RoofRender to show the new roof?
- It is fast: about 20 seconds per render, so it fits inside a sales visit.
- It is their own house: one photo from the driveway, and only the roof changes.
- Several brands on one photo: named Owens Corning, IKO and Higgins Steel colors, and we add specific products on request.
- Simple published monthly plans, with free renders to start.
- A share link for every render, and a website widget that collects homeowner leads (Growth and Pro).
What is the difference between Hover and RoofRender?
Hover is a measurement and design platform. From a set of smartphone photos it builds a measured 3D model of the house, and you can switch the roof, siding and windows to real GAF, James Hardie and Alside products1. Since January 2026 it also runs estimates and e-signed proposals from the same model2.
RoofRender does one thing: it renders a new roof onto a single photo of the house. It does not measure, estimate or change the siding.
How does each tool make the picture?
Hover's main workflow applies materials to the 3D model it builds from your photos1. Its Instant Design tool, launched in February 2025, makes an AI design from a single photo instead3.
RoofRender uses a Google Gemini image model, told to change only the roof, with the color pinned to the catalog swatch tone. It keeps the house, the light and the camera angle, and replaces the roof with the material and color you pick from 17 materials and 78 colors.
How much do Hover and RoofRender cost?
Hover lists its plans at hover.to/pricing.
RoofRender's Starter plan is $97 a month for 50 renders (about $1.94 a render), Growth is $297 for 500, and Pro is $497 for 1,000 (about $0.50 a render). Prices change, so check each vendor's pricing page before you buy.
What does Hover do that RoofRender doesn't?
Can you use both on the same job?
Yes. They do different jobs: Hover for measuring and proposals, RoofRender for a fast picture of the new roof. Every RoofRender render has a share link you can text to the homeowner.
What are the alternatives to Hover for showing a new roof?
RoofRender is the best Hover alternative for showing a new roof. For whole-exterior design across many manufacturers there is Renoworks Pro6, and for one brand at no cost the GAF Virtual Remodeler7 or Owens Corning Design EyeQ8.
